Hematology

 

Haematology, which is sub-branch of internal diseases, is related to increasing or decreasing of anaemia, bleeding, coagulopathies, erythrocyte, leukocyte, platelet, lymphoma, leukaemia and plasma cell.

ANAEMIA


There are causes of anaemia such as iron deficiency anaemia, folic acid deficiency, B12 deficiency in this group diseases.

Anaemia which is known as a haemolytic anaemia, can be congenital or acquired to be result of anaemia because of the excessive erythrocyte destruction.

Mediterranean anaemia and haemoglobinopathy can be given as an example.


Bone marrow deficiency is generally more problematic diseases not only leucocyte and platelet deficiency but also anaemia.

BLEEDING (BLEEDING DIATHESES)

It is a diseases group from little purple spot to the cause of bleeding to be related to various organs. Its symptoms are nasal bleeding, menstrual irregularity and gastrointestinal bleeding.


Bleeding may be related to vessel, thrombocyte or clotting factors. For example, thrombocytopenia (decreasing thrombocyte) which is related to a lot of causes has important place in this group.

LYMPHOMA


This diseases that can be seen in every age causes very important questions such as lymphatic glad, spleen, liver, bone marrow. The treatment can be different according to its pathology and prevalence.

LEUKAEMIA

It is a diseases group which is sometimes decelerated process (chronic), sometimes quick process (acute) and is related to leukocyte mainly. PLASMA CELL DISEASES

It is a diseases group that is caused by the increasing of the number of the plasma cells with different rates and involvement of various organs. Multiple myeloma and waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia which are seen in the middle age and eld age are in this group.
